The Darnytsia Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Central Region has uncovered a scheme for the embezzlement of food products intended for Ukrainian defenders. A suspicion of the theft of military property (Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been reported against the head of the cafeteria, an instructor, and a driver from one of the military units.

The investigation established that the head of the cafeteria organized a mechanism for the systematic theft of products that the state allocated for the provision of servicemen. She involved her subordinates in the scheme: an instructor who falsified accounting documents and a driver who transported the stolen goods in a service vehicle for sale.

During September-October 2025, at least five episodes of food embezzlement were documented, causing losses to the military unit of over 1 million hryvnias.

During another attempt to sell food products worth about 160 thousand hryvnias, the suspects were exposed and detained.

All three have been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 900 thousand hryvnias. The sanction of the article provides for punishment of 10 to 15 years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Kyiv with operational support from the military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.
