A citizen of Moldova was detained in the Kyiv region, who set fire to a military car for a thousand dollars

		Under the procedural guidance of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova has been notified of suspicion for obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intentionally damaging property by arson (Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the man received a task via messenger from unidentified individuals: to set fire to the car of a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a monetary reward of 1,000 USD. 
On the night of October 28, 2025, the suspect, acting out of mercenary motives, doused a Skoda Octavia parked near a residential building in the city of Bila Tserkva with gasoline and set it on fire. The car belonged to a military unit and was used by a serviceman to perform official duties.
The fire damaged the vehicle, causing property damage to the military unit.
The man recorded his actions on video for reporting to the clients. 
He has been detained and notified of suspicion. The court has chosen a preventive measure — detention without the right to bail. In addition, the possibility of the man's involvement in other similar crimes aimed at undermining Ukraine's defense capability is being investigated.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Bila Tserkva District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office.
