In the Nikolaev area they will be tried by a serviceman who for money promised to influence the management of returning to the service and appointment to the "Need" position

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Southern region, an indictment has been sent to court against a junior sergeant who promised to influence the leadership of the unit for money and assist in the return of a serviceman to duty.

According to the investigation, in May 2025, the accused offered a serviceman, who had deserted the military unit and intended to return to service, to transfer him to another unit for money, close the criminal proceedings, and appoint him to a position not related to combat tasks.

The accused assured that he had the ability to influence the leadership of the military unit, which would supposedly guarantee the transfer of the serviceman from the reserve battalion. In case of refusal, he threatened to transfer him to a combat brigade.

After the serviceman contacted law enforcement, further actions were carried out under their control.

The funds were transferred in two stages: initially 2,000 euros, after which the serviceman was appointed to the position of driver-fueler, and later 40,000 hryvnias, after which the accused was detained by law enforcement.

His actions have been qualified under part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by employees of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
