Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations uncovered the head of the Department of the State Environmental Inspection of the Dnipro region (Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions) for illegal enrichment.

The investigation established that the official, being a person authorized to perform state functions, acquired unjustified assets worth over 50 million UAH. Among them are an apartment of over 100 m² in a premium residential complex and a BMW 520i car. To conceal the illegal origin of the property, ownership was registered in the name of a relative.

During a court-sanctioned search at the suspect's residence, 880,000 USD, 210,000 euros (which totals over 46 million UAH), and other valuables were discovered and seized.

The official has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. She has been notified of suspicion under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment).

Currently, the suspect has been placed in custody with an alternative of bail set at 30 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigations with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
