Juvenile prosecutors of the Myrhorod District Prosecutor's Office proved the guilt of a local resident in the attempted rape of a minor (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment. 

In the summer of 2024, a resident of the Myrhorod district, while intoxicated, unlawfully entered a house where a 16-year-old girl lived with her family. After confirming that the minor was home alone, the perpetrator attempted to rape the child. The girl resisted. She managed to break free from the attacker, escape through the window, and inform neighbors and relatives about the incident. 

The accused did not admit his guilt; however, based on the collected evidence and conducted examinations, the court agreed with the prosecutors' arguments. Until the sentence takes effect, the man will remain in custody.
