05.08.2025
Juvenile prosecutors of the Nemyriv District Prosecutor's Office in Vinnytsia region have sent an indictment to the court against a 31-year-old resident of the Illinets community, who, according to the investigation, systematically abused her minor daughter.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that from October to December 2024, the woman committed physical and psychological violence against her 9-year-old child. The accused beat her with her hands and a stick, pushed her, accompanied by insults, threats, and isolation.
The most brutal actions were recorded on December 4 and 7. Due to allegedly uncompleted homework, the mother beat the child, causing numerous bruises to her face, arms, torso, and legs.
Prosecutors also insisted on considering not only the physical injuries but also the psychological consequences for the child: the victim shows signs of emotional withdrawal, fear, social isolation, and moral suffering.
Thanks to the timely response of law enforcement, the child was removed from the dangerous environment — she is under supervision.
The actions of the accused have been qualified under Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — torture. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to six years.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of Police Department No. 3 of the Vinnytsia District Police under the procedural guidance of the Nemyriv District Prosecutor's Office.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
