11.07.2025
In the Vinnytsia region, thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement, illegal activities related to the storage and distribution of child pornography were uncovered and stopped.
As part of the crime documentation, a resident of the Vinnytsia district was detained. During searches, a laptop, 5 hard drives, and 2 internal mobile phones were found and seized from him. The seized items will be sent for examination.
It was established that in 2023, posing as a 17-year-old teenager, he sent pornographic photos and videos to a 7-year-old child during communication on social networks. Subsequently, by exerting psychological influence and blackmailing, he forced the child to take photos and videos of himself – showing his naked body, including his genitals. Over more than two years, the child produced several dozen files of illegal content.
Juvenile prosecutors, together with the police, found that the man had been engaged in illegal activities since 2015. During this time, he downloaded from the Internet and stored on his phone 536 photos and videos, which, according to the conclusion of the forensic art examination, are child pornography. Some of them were distributed under a pseudonym in an online communication app.
The man has been informed of the suspicion of intentionally storing and distributing child pornography, as well as coercing a minor to participate in the creation of child pornography and committing lewd acts against them (part 1-4 of Article 301-1, part 2 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The prosecution insisted in court on choosing a non-alternative preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect. The court supported the prosecution's position.
Currently, the victim child is in a safe place with a family. She has been interviewed in a child-friendly environment, and a psychologist is working with her.
Under the procedural guidance of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Mohyliv-Podilskyi District Police Department in cooperation with the territorial units of the Migration Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police and the Cybercrime Prevention Department, along with the 24th Border Detachment named after Vyacheslav Semenov.
