In Kharkiv region, a man who illegally kept and raped a 13-year-old girl was convicted in Kharkiv region

Under public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Berezivska District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv Oblast, the court found a 36-year-old citizen guilty of unlawful deprivation of liberty and the rape of a minor (Part 2 of Article 146, Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.

Prosecutors proved that in October 2023, in one of the settlements of the district, the man approached a 13-year-old girl, grabbed her by the hand, and, threatening her with a knife, forced her to get into his car.

Despite the child's pleas to be released, the attacker kept her in the car and then raped her.

After a few hours, the victim managed to break free and escape. She immediately called her parents, who came and took her home.

The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the court proceedings, he did not admit guilt and claimed that he allegedly intended only to give the girl a ride home due to the late hour and the state of war.

However, the prosecution provided complete and objective evidence of the person's guilt in committing the charged crimes.

The guilty verdict was issued by the Kholodnohirskiy District Court of Kharkiv. The time for filing an appeal is ongoing.
