Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 53-year-old citizen has been notified of suspicion for preparing a terrorist act committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy (Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, an unemployed resident of the city of Lozova, seeking "easy money," agreed to carry out the received task through Telegram channels.

Following the instructions, the suspect manufactured an improvised explosive device based on a fire extinguisher casing: inside, explosive material and metal elements (nuts) were placed to enhance the effectiveness of the explosion. 

The device was intended to be placed under a vehicle used by the servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and to be detonated remotely at the moment personnel approached. For completing the task, he was to receive a monetary reward.

Law enforcement officers detained the man while he was attempting to plant the explosives under a military vehicle. 

He has been chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Operational support is provided by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
