08.09.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office of the Kharkiv Region, a 35-year-old man has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the repeated rape of a minor, committed by a person who has previously committed a criminal offense as defined in Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, on September 5, 2025, in one of the settlements of the Kharkiv district, a 15-year-old girl went to the cemetery.
A man approached her, claiming to be a cemetery guard. Under the pretext of checking documents and personal belongings, he forced the minor to hand over everything she had with her.
After that, the perpetrator began to "search" her body with his hands. Despite the victim's pleas to stop, the man knocked her to the ground, forcibly dragged her into the bushes, and raped her. He then fled the scene of the crime.
The perpetrator hid from the investigation for two days. He has a criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and inviolability. To avoid detection, he smashed his phone and settled in a rented apartment.
However, law enforcement quickly established his whereabouts and arrested him.
In court, the head of the Kharkiv District Prosecutor's Office, who is the senior prosecutor in the mentioned criminal proceedings, will petition for the suspect to be remanded in custody without the possibility of bail.
Law enforcement is conducting investigative actions to establish other facts of rapes committed by the perpetrator.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative unit of Police Station No. 1 of the Kharkiv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv Region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
