Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office have returned over 300 hectares of agricultural land to the community through court proceedings, which were illegally removed from the communal property of the Tyahyn territorial community of the Beryslav district.
The lands were registered as private property based on forged documents. The orders from the local administration, referenced by the participants of the fraudulent scheme, did not pertain to the transfer of these plots, state acts of ownership were never issued, and the certificates from the cadastral registrar contained false information.
The Velykooleksandrivsk District Court satisfied five lawsuits from prosecutors in the interests of the Tyahyn Village Council and the Tyahyn Village Military Administration. The court decisions have come into legal force. Currently, the registration of property rights for the community is ongoing.
Simultaneously with the judicial protection of state interests in the land sector, law enforcement uncovered a criminal group of nine individuals involved in the scheme. Five of them have already been convicted under plea agreements — each received five years of imprisonment with a probationary period. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing for the other four, including the organizer.
