Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region, officials of the military medical commission of a municipal medical facility and the medical service of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support have been exposed and detained.
According to the investigation, the head of the commission and a paramedic from the medical service, acting in collusion, received unlawful benefits from conscripts: for 900 US dollars, they offered men of draft age undergoing medical examinations the arrangement of a deferment from conscription due to health reasons.
To do this, they prepared medical documents with fictitious diagnoses, which allowed for the subsequent removal of the individual from military registration and complete avoidance of mobilization.
In September, the women were detained after receiving part of the unlawful benefit — 400 US dollars.
Earlier, law enforcement had already documented their receipt of 1300 US dollars in several installments.
The suspects have been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court has chosen a preventive measure for the women: for the paramedic of the medical service — detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 454,200 hryvnias, and for the head of the commission — house arrest.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv Region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson Region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
