Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Kherson Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, a local resident has been detained and notified of suspicion for passing intelligence data and adjusting enemy shelling. He is charged with treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a 65-year-old man collected and transmitted information about the locations and movements of the Security and Defense Forces, the locations of their positions, military equipment, as well as checkpoints in Kherson to a "staff employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation for the Kherson region."

The obtained information was used to carry out missile and artillery strikes on the city and to adjust shelling by the aggressor country.

Law enforcement officers detained the man and seized mobile phones and a tablet containing evidence of his illegal activities.

The suspect has been placed in custody without the right to bail.

The measures to uncover the crime were carried out by prosecutors in cooperation with investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region, with operational support from military counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
