The Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office is conducting procedural oversight in a criminal proceeding regarding the legalization of property obtained through criminal means and the illegal use of trademarks (Article 209, Part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Law enforcement officers uncovered and halted the illegal activities of a group of individuals who organized underground production in the city of Khmelnytskyi for the purpose of making a profit. They were engaged in the manufacture and sale of counterfeit products – sportswear using trademarks of well-known brands without authorization.

The goods were sold through communities in the messaging apps "Viber" and "Telegram," as well as at one of the markets in the region, selling them at prices lower than those of the original products.

During authorized searches at the locations of illegal production, storage, and sale of counterfeit products, approximately 2,500 units of sportswear (suits, pants, t-shirts) with illegally applied logos of famous global brands were seized, along with machines, fittings, labels, and other physical evidence. The preliminary value of the seized products is over 7 million UAH.

All circumstances of the criminal offense are being established.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support are being carried out by the employees of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
