Prosecutors of the Zhytomyr Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Central Region have sent an indictment to the court regarding five residents of Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. 

It has been established that in July 2024, a resident of Zhytomyr region, together with accomplices, organized a stable criminal group, the members of which produced and sold drugs. In a private house in Kyiv region, they set up a laboratory for the illegal production of precursors and amphetamines in large and especially large quantities. The necessary components for the production of psychotropic substances were ordered by the members of the criminal group via the Internet.

The obtained substance was packaged, masked, and sent by postal shipments to Zhytomyr region. There, the drugs were transported for further sale.

Some members of the group were engaged in finding clients, selling "hand-to-hand," and receiving payments, which were transferred to bank cards used to finance criminal activities.

During the pre-trial investigation, a number of facts of illegal production, shipment, storage, and sale of amphetamines were documented. 

The actions of the individuals have been qualified under parts 2, 3 of Article 307, part 3 of Article 311, part 3 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 317, part 2 of Article 317, and part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The accused face a penalty of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zhytomyr region with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations in Zhytomyr region.
