He sent fake reports of replacement of educational institutions in Europe - Dnipro resident reported suspicion

Prosecutors from Dnipropetrovsk region, together with representatives of the regional cyber police and law enforcement officers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Latvia, conducted a series of searches in a criminal proceeding regarding a knowingly false report about a threat to public safety. During the search at his residence, computer equipment, mobile phones, and other information carriers were seized.
Prosecutors from the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of Dnipro informed the man of his suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Since September 2024, educational institutions and leisure centers in the Czech Republic, Latvia, and Slovakia have been systematically receiving electronic messages about bomb threats. The mass messages containing threats caused significant public resonance. As a result, the educational process had to be suspended in several schools in these countries at the beginning of the school year.
To conduct the investigation with the support of Eurojust, a joint investigative team was established, which included representatives of the competent authorities of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Latvia. Law enforcement officers from the four countries planned and successfully carried out a joint operation on the territory of Ukraine.
Investigative actions are ongoing, and other individuals who may be involved in the illegal activities are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding is being conducted by investigators from the Dnipro District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region, with operational support from the regional department for combating cybercrime of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
