The commander of a company from one of the combat military units in the Kirovohrad region has been exposed for aiding in the misappropriation of budget funds intended for payments to military personnel. 

The suspect knew that his subordinate, who was ordered to guard critical infrastructure facilities, was actually not serving in the military and was staying at home. 

Despite this, the commander submitted false information in reports every month from September 2024 to February 2025 to receive additional monetary rewards.  His actions caused the state losses of nearly 230 thousand UAH.

Prosecutors from the Kropyvnytskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region have informed the commander of the suspicion of aiding in the misappropriation of someone else's property during the period of martial law (part 5 of article 27, part 2 of article 28, part 4 of article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, a motion is being prepared for the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Kirovohrad region. 

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
