Under the procedural guidance of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 42-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi has been notified of suspicion for the act of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, this year the man began communicating with a user on "Telegram." Understanding that this was a representative of the aggressor country, he agreed to gather information for its further use against the Ukrainian state.
In May of this year, he received a task to take photos of a military infrastructure object. Initially, he sent the curator information with geolocation tags, and later – photos of the requested object.
For the completed work, he received a monetary reward to his crypto wallet.
The suspect also documented the consequences of a missile strike in photos and sent them to the "customer."
Law enforcement officers detained the man during another photo shoot.
He has been chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
