Prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a lawyer from Kamianets-Podilskyi for organizing the illegal transportation of a person across the state border of Ukraine and for abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 332, Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that during a consultation regarding leaving the country, the woman offered her client to arrange disability status for his wife, which would allow him to leave the country as an accompanying person. According to her, she could influence the decision of the expert team from one of the district hospitals regarding the daily functioning of the individual.

Initially, the lawyer estimated her services at 12 thousand US dollars, but then lowered the "price" to 8 thousand. 

After this proposal, the man contacted law enforcement.

The woman was detained in May of this year after receiving the funds.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Khmelnytskyi region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region and the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
