Prosecutors of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a resident of the Vinnytsia district for the illegal acquisition for the purpose of sale, storage, and sale of illegally manufactured excise goods – tobacco raw materials (Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the 32-year-old accused was selling illegal excise goods – tobacco raw materials in his own household to local residents, as well as through the Internet.

During a sanctioned search at the seller's residence, about 2.5 tons of tobacco in bags and cardboard boxes were seized, as well as boxes of cigarette tubes.  

During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect voluntarily transferred 100,000 UAH to an account to support one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.   

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Vinnytsia region with operational support from the State Border Guard Service.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
