Illegally imported a car under the guise of a hydoa for the Armed Forces - in Volyn prosecutors transferred to court the case of the head of a charity

Prosecutors of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, following the results of the pre-trial investigation, sent an indictment to the court against the founder of a charitable organization. He is accused of smuggling excise goods (Part 1 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation established that a resident of Kovel registered a charitable organization, the details of which he later used to import cars. Since he had the right to travel abroad, he independently searched for them in European Union countries, purchased them, and imported them into Ukraine.

When crossing the customs border, the cars were declared as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Subsequently, the vehicles were sold for cash.

In this way, the accused illegally imported and sold five smuggled cars with a total value of nearly 1.4 million hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Volyn region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Volyn region.
