Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, based on the results of pre-trial investigations in a number of criminal proceedings, notified nine more local government officials, heads of municipal and state institutions involved in embezzlement of budget funds, abuse of office, and illegal mining.

Thus, the deputy head of the Lviv branch of the Center for State Land Cadastre developed technical documentation based on forged documents, as a result of which land plots were illegally disposed from communal property. The losses exceed UAH 10 million.

The acting director of the Bukovyna State Agricultural Research Station of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS) sold agricultural products at prices lower than market prices. Losses amounted to UAH 5.2 million.

The director of a municipal enterprise of the Sokyrian City Council organized illegal limestone mining and squandered budget funds. The losses were estimated at UAH 5 million.

The former head of the Khotyn National Nature Park embezzled budget funds while paying out bonuses and allowances. The amount of losses is over UAH 385 thousand.

The head of the Chudeyska territorial community allowed embezzling more than UAH 866 thousand of budget funds during the construction of a football field with artificial turf.

A deputy of the Zastavnivska City Council, who temporarily headed the Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, allowed embezzling over UAH 280,000 during the overhaul of the catering unit of a local educational institution.

A deputy and director general of the "Kitsmansk Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital" organized the procurement of wall-mounted air conditioners at an inflated price. Losses - UAH 370 thousand.

The director of the Hlybotsky Vocational Lyceum committed embezzlement of over UAH 320 thousand during procurement services for repairing a dormitory for accommodating internally displaced persons.

The former head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration caused losses in the amount of more than UAH 430,000 by overstating the cost of construction works on the bank fortification of the Cheremosh River.

The actions of the suspects were qualified under Part 4, 5 of Art. 191, Part 2 of Art. 364, Part 1 of Art. 364, Part 3 of Art. 362, Part 3 of Art. 15, Part 5 of Art. 190, Part 4 of Art. 240, Art. 209, Part 2, 3 of Art. 27, Art. 190, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The total amount of damages established in these criminal proceedings is almost UAH 23 million.

The Prosecutor's Office is currently preparing a motion to impose preventive measures and suspend the suspects from their positions.

Pre-trial investigations are carried out under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the Main Police Department, the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau, the Territorial Office of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service Department, and the Strategic Investigations Department in Chernivtsi region.
