Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a 65-year-old resident of Luhansk region, who voluntarily headed the electoral commission during the occupation at the pseudo-referendum on the "joining" of the region to Russia.
Together with other commission members, she organized mobile voting in a specially equipped bus, which was formally supposed to ensure the participation of those who could not come to the polling station in the "referendum." In reality, such buses transported members of the pseudo-electoral commissions around the villages, where people were forced to vote right by their homes or in the open air — without control, without the secrecy of the vote, but under the watchful eye of the occupiers.
The collaborator subsequently counted and submitted fictitious results to the occupiers, to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
For her collaborative activities (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), she faces up to 10 years in prison.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
