Officers of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were notified of suspicion

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office, an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was notified of suspicion of receiving 14 thousand US dollars of illegal benefit.

According to the investigation, at first she offered to influence the transfer of a serviceman from a combat to a rear military unit for money. For such a "solution to the issue" she demanded from 7 to 10 thousand US dollars.

When difficulties arose with the transfer, the officer proposed another option - the establishment of a disability group III for a serviceman with subsequent dismissal from military service.

She determined the cost of such a "solution to the issue" at 14 thousand US dollars.

For these funds, the suspect, according to the investigation, promised to influence the officials of the National Military Medical Clinical Center "Main Military Clinical Hospital" so that they would make a decision on the establishment of a disability group III for the serviceman.

To do this, she received his personal and military registration documents, and later medical documentation.

On August 6, 2026, during a meeting in Kyiv, the officer received the agreed 14 thousand US dollars. Immediately after the transfer of funds, she was detained by law enforcement officers.

She was notified of suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit for influencing decision-making by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state, combined with the extortion of such a benefit (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspect was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the SBI with the operational support of the Main Operational Department of the SBI.

Note: according to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
