The Office of the Prosecutor General and the SBU warned the custom murder

Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, together with investigators and operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), it was possible to prevent a contract killing of a Ukrainian serviceman from the "Da Vinci Wolves" unit, which was being prepared by the FSB of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, the Russian special service recruited a resident of Dnipropetrovsk region, posing as the SBU. He was informed about a fabricated case of "state treason" and, by blackmailing him with arrest, forced him to agree to "cooperate".

In Kyiv, the individual rented an apartment in a residential complex where, according to enemy information, a Ukrainian commander lived. He was to monitor him, provide photo reports, and coordinates.

To justify the crime, the serviceman was labeled a "traitor" who allegedly "directs missile strikes" on Kyiv.

Subsequently, the recruited individual was given the coordinates of a stash with an AK-74 assault rifle on the outskirts of Kyiv. After receiving the weapon, he was instructed to eliminate the Ukrainian soldier.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement, the crime against the serviceman from the "Da Vinci Wolves" unit was prevented.

Currently, prosecutors have informed the individual of suspicion under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal handling of weapons.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the SBU, with operational support from the Main Directorate "I" of the SBU.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
