Organized a terrorist attack as a result of which the military of the Armed Forces was wounded - two men were exposed in Kharkiv

Under the procedural guidance of the Saltivskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv, two men have been notified of suspicion for committing a terrorist act, carried out by a group of individuals in conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Additionally, one of them has been further charged with the illegal manufacture, storage, and carrying of an explosive device (Part 2 of Article 263-1, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, an unemployed resident of Kharkiv contacted a representative of the Russian special services via Telegram. The suspect received a task – to manufacture an explosive device and detonate it on a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2,000 US dollars.

The man agreed and purchased all the necessary components. Following the curator's instructions, he manufactured a homemade explosive device. To record the moment of the explosion, the suspect bought a mobile phone, a power bank, and SIM cards, installed an application for remote monitoring, and attached the devices to a cardboard box.

To carry out the crime, the suspect involved his neighbor. Together, they went to an apartment building in Kharkiv, where one placed a bag with explosives in the bushes near the entrance, while the other left a box nearby for monitoring, to which a mobile phone and power bank were attached.

Subsequently, the enemy "lured" the serviceman to the specified location and remotely activated the explosives. The serviceman was injured.

Law enforcement officers uncovered and detained both suspects. The court granted the prosecutor's request - they have been taken into custody without the right to bail.

The promised money for committing the terrorist act was never received by the suspects.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative unit of the Kharkiv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
