Transfer of UAV designs: prosecutors announced charges against a Kharkiv teacher

On November 12, the prosecutor's office completed the announcement of the indictment in the case against a former lecturer of one of the Kharkiv universities. According to the investigation, from October 2022 to August 2024, he developed and transferred technical materials that could be used by the aggressor state to create strike unmanned aerial vehicles, including drones of the "Geran" type.

According to the investigation, this involves systematic preparation and transfer to the Russian Federation of pre-project proposals, drawings, and scientific reports with technical calculations of engines and launch systems. Expertise confirmed that these materials have military purposes and can be used for the development, testing, and production of combat UAVs. The transfer of such technologies, according to experts, could harm Ukraine's defense capability.

During investigative actions, electronic media containing correspondence and evidence of the transfer of technical materials to Russian employees involved in drone production were seized.

His actions were classified under part 2 of article 28, part 1 of article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – aiding the aggressor state, committed by a group of persons in conspiracy.

The accused stated in the court session that he does not admit guilt.

Note: according to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
