Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 24-year-old citizen of Ukraine has been notified of suspicion for treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the agent turned out to be a technical employee of one of the higher educational institutions in the capital. The Russian special service recruited him through one of the Telegram channels, where the man was looking for offers of "easy earnings."
For money, the agent tracked military convoys, government trains, and air defense systems, as well as adjusted enemy strikes on defense industry facilities in the region.
To carry out the tasks of the Russian Federation's special services, the man purchased portable surveillance cameras, which he installed at the coordinates provided by his curator.
The perpetrator was detained at his temporary residence in one of the settlements in the Kyiv region.
The First Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office requested the court to apply a preventive measure to the suspect without the possibility of bail during the court session. The court supported the prosecutor's position.
Pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
