Prosecutors of the Podil District Prosecutor's Office have reported suspicion of official negligence against the former head of one of the departments of the KP "Kyivpastrans".

It has been established that in 2022, a contract for the supply of electricity was concluded between a private company and the municipal enterprise for a total amount of over 537 million hryvnias.

Subsequently, the company informed "Kyivpastrans" about the reduction in electricity prices from February to August 2022. In turn, the former official concealed this fact in official memos and agreed to sign an additional agreement for the supply of electricity at an inflated price.

According to the conclusions of the expert examinations, KP "Kyivpastrans" overpaid under the specified contract by almost 11.6 million hryvnias, causing damages to the territorial community of Kyiv in that amount.

Currently, the woman, who now holds a managerial position at the SCP "Kyivteleservice", has been informed of suspicion under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - for improper performance of official duties by an official due to a negligent attitude towards them, which caused severe consequences for state interests.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Podil District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv with operational support from the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The sanction of the article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions and engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, as well as a fine of up to 750 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
