Overpaying more than UAH 50 million for Internet equipment - another SKP "Kyivteleservice" official was suspected

Prosecutors of the Darnytsia District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv have informed the head of one of the departments of the Specialized Communal Enterprise "Kyivteleservis" of suspicion of official negligence during the procurement of network equipment for the Internet.

It has been established that the communal enterprise, subordinate to the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Kyiv City State Administration, and a private company entered into a contract for the supply of equipment for Internet connectivity for a total amount of 172 million hryvnias.

At the same time, the suspect, whose duties included submitting proposals for the procurement of such equipment, did not analyze the average market prices, resulting in an overpayment of 50 million hryvnias for the equipment, which was purchased at inflated prices. Thus, the capital's budget suffered losses in this amount.

The actions of the suspect have been qualified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — official negligence, that is, improper performance by an official of their duties due to a negligent attitude towards them, which caused severe consequences for the state interests protected by law.

It should be noted that earlier, suspicion of official negligence was also received by the head of another department of "Kyivteleservis," who chaired the tender committee that conducted the procurement of this equipment.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Darnytsia Police Department of the Main National Police Department in Kyiv under the procedural guidance of the Darnytsia District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
