According to the investigation, on September 24, a "Daewoo Lanos" car was stopped in the village of Davydiv, Lviv region. Its driver, a 33-year-old resident of Kyiv, suddenly left the vehicle and attempted to flee. A large bag was left inside the vehicle, which attracted the attention of law enforcement officers.

During a subsequent search, over 4,200 packages containing psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs were discovered in it. 

In particular, the following were seized:

- 1991 "stash" of PVP weighing over 2 kg;

- 1127 "stashes" of amphetamine weighing over 1.5 kg;

- 274 "stashes" and a package of cannabis weighing about 480 g;

- 821 "stash" and a package of mephedrone (4-MMC) weighing about 850 g;

- 128 MDMA tablets with a total weight of about 128 g.

The total weight of the seized substances is over 5 kg, and its estimated value on the "black market" exceeds 3 million UAH. The seized substances have been sent for expert examination.

Under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor's Office of Lviv region, he has been notified of suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation for the purpose of sale of psychotropic substances in especially large quantities (part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The suspect has been chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.

Investigative actions are ongoing. 

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by Police Department No. 3 of Lviv RUP No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region, with operational support from the operatives of the UBN GUNP in Lviv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
