Prosecutors of the Vyshhorod District Prosecutor's Office are conducting procedural leadership in a criminal proceeding regarding the infliction of serious bodily injuries that led to a person's death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on the night of October 12 to 13, 2025, in one of the private houses in the village of Ivankiv, a quarrel arose between two acquaintances during their joint consumption of alcohol.

During the conflict, one of the men repeatedly struck the other with his hands and feet on the head and torso. The victim sustained numerous injuries — rib fractures, a traumatic brain injury, and internal bleeding. He died at the scene from the injuries sustained. 

The suspect was detained on October 13 in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He has been informed of the suspicion of committing a crime as provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
