Under the public prosecution of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a serviceman of the Russian Federation has been found guilty of cruel treatment of civilians (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He has been sentenced in absentia to 10 years of imprisonment.

The prosecutor proved in court that a resident of the Novosibirsk region of the Russian Federation, as part of the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, participated in the occupation of the Sumy region. In March 2022, he committed acts of sexual violence against a local resident and also robbed her, taking her mobile phone. To overcome the victim's resistance, the occupier fired a shot from an automatic rifle in her direction and threatened to shoot her knees.

The convicted individual has been placed on the wanted list.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
