She selected targets for Russian missiles: a resident of Donetsk region was sentenced to 15 years for treason

Prosecutors of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office proved in court the guilt of a woman who transmitted data about the positions of Ukrainian military forces and civilian infrastructure objects to representatives of Russian special services. The court sentenced her to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for treason in a state of war (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In early December 2024, a former employee of a coal mining enterprise began correspondence on Telegram with a serviceman from the Russian Armed Forces and an employee of the so-called "military counterintelligence of the FSB of the DPR." She voluntarily agreed to collect data that could be used by the Russian army to carry out strikes in Donetsk region.

For two months, she tracked the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units in Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and near one of the settlements in the Pokrovsk district. She also recorded information about civilian infrastructure objects that could become targets for shelling. She received a lot of data from communication with local residents and provided her curators with detailed textual "reports."

In March 2025, law enforcement uncovered her activities. At the request of the prosecutor's office, she was held in custody until the verdict.

The court found her guilty of treason and imposed a sentence of 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
