Suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy was chosen a preventive measure

The Halytskyi District Court of the city of Lviv granted the request of the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspect in the case of the murder of People's Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Parubiy was remanded in custody for a period of 60 days without bail.

The actions of the 52-year-old Lviv resident were qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely: part 1 of Art 115 (intentional murder) and part 1 of Art 263 (illegal handling of weapons).

It should be reminded, on August 30, the suspect in Lviv fired eight shots at the People's Deputy, as a result of which the victim died on the spot.

The next day he was detained in the territory of Khmelnytskyi region.

"When shots are fired on the streets, this is a signal for the whole state. We react decisively so that every crime against a person's life receives the strictest legal assessment," emphasized the head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, Mykola Meret.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution, a person shall be presumed innocent of a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt has been proved legally and established by a court conviction.
