Prosecutors of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against a resident of one of the villages in the Chortkiv district, accused of sabotage and preparing to commit a terrorist act (part 2 of Article 113, part 1 of Article 14, part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in May 2025, a 19-year-old unemployed resident of the Chortkiv district was recruited by the enemy through a Telegram channel.

The young man was looking for a way to make quick money, and a curator from Telegram offered him a reward to set fire to a relay cabinet on the railway section near the city of Borshchiv.

After destroying the relay cabinet and providing photographic evidence of this, the accused was instructed to make a homemade explosive device. However, law enforcement officers detained the saboteur shortly after the arson and timely prevented the preparation for the explosion.

They seized his mobile phone, as well as components of explosives, part of which he had stored in his own residence.

The accused is in custody.

The investigation conducted by the SBU investigators in the Ternopil region has been completed.
