Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office referred to trial an indictment against the director of an enterprise specializing in the construction and sale of real estate, for tax evasion in particularly large amounts and official forgery (part 3 of Art 212, part 1 of Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was established that in the city of Dnipro the company leased three plots of land with an area of almost 14 hectares from the city council. In order to avoid paying taxes, the accused indicated an underestimated rate of rent for land plots when paying rent for land.

As a result of such actions, the company did not pay more than UAH 31.8 million in rent for these plots.

During the investigation, the company fully reimbursed the budget for unpaid funds and penalties.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Main Detective Unit of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine.

Note: In accordance with art. Article 62 of the Constitution states that a person shall be presumed innocent of a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt has been proved legally and established by a court conviction.
