08.10.2025
Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old residents of Kyiv.
According to the investigation, in March 2025, the accused, seeking "easy money" on Telegram, agreed to an offer from an anonymous person. He proposed $3,000 for the delivery of an allegedly money-filled bag.
Following the instructions of the "employer," they arrived in Lviv, where they picked up the bag in a forest strip at specified coordinates. Subsequently, the Kyiv residents settled in a hostel in the city center, where, upon examining the contents of the bag, they discovered a homemade explosive device. Realizing that the "anonymous" was a representative of the Russian Federation, they agreed to follow his further instructions.
In particular, according to the instructions, they purchased surveillance equipment and connected a detonator.
According to the pre-agreed plan, the accused were to plant disguised explosives near the premises of one of the district police departments in Lviv.
However, thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement, the explosion was prevented — the offenders were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The actions of the accused have been classified under Part 2 of Article 111 and Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - treason and illegal handling of explosive devices.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
