Planned to attach a GPS tracker to launch an enemy attack on the Rivne NPP facility: a local resident will be tried

Prosecutors of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding a resident of Varash, who was caught in May of this year preparing a sabotage act at the infrastructure facility of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant.

Recruited by the Russian special services as part of cooperation with the enemy, he was gathering intelligence and passing information about military units in Varash.

The accused was also supposed to provide the enemy with the exact coordinates of the infrastructure facility of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant for the preparation of another shelling. To do this, he purchased a GPS tracker with a SIM card from a mobile operator and attempted to attach the tracker to a support of the overhead power line, which plays an important role in supplying power from the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant.

The actions of the man have been classified as preparation for sabotage and dissemination of information about the movement, motion, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations, if such information was not publicly available, committed under martial law (Part 1 of Article 14, Part 2 of Article 113, Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
