12 collaborators who defected to the enemy and fought against the defense forces in Donetsk region were notified of suspicion

Twelve residents of the temporarily occupied territories, who joined the Russian army and participated in offensive operations, have been notified of suspicion of treason and collaboration activities (parts 1, 2 of Article 111, part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The maximum punishment is life imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for 15 years and confiscation of property.

It has been established that from 2016 to 2025, residents of various temporarily occupied territories signed contracts with the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Two of them are former convicts who took up arms in exchange for the promised amnesty.

Holding various positions in the army, the men participated in assault actions in Donetsk region, fighting against Ukraine in strategically important areas of the front: near Torsk, Yampil, Kleban-Bika, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Kucherov Yar, and Ocheretyn.

The defense forces detained them in the Bakhmut, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk districts.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
