Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a suspicion has been announced against the acting head of the Frankivsk District Administration and the head of the Halych District Administration of Lviv for abuse of office, which caused serious consequences (Part 1, 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the mentioned officials of the District Administration unjustifiably approved the project and cost documentation for the director of the municipal enterprise of the Lviv City Council, which carried out emergency recovery work on residential buildings on Stryiska Street after a missile strike on Lviv in July 2023. 

According to the investigation, the contractor artificially inflated the cost of window blocks and other construction materials during the repair of roofs, load-bearing walls, and the installation of new windows in the affected buildings.

 As a result of these actions, according to the conclusions of the expert examinations, the individual illegally appropriated funds from the local budget allocated for eliminating the consequences of the missile strike, totaling over 1.7 million UAH.

The director of the municipal enterprise has also been notified of suspicion for misappropriation of someone else's property through abuse of office on a large scale (Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Requests for the selection of a preventive measure for the suspects are being prepared.

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
