It was reported that the ex-deputy was suspected of tax evasion of almost 12 million hryvnias

A former deputy of the Kyiv City Council, who is now a lawyer, allegedly sold elite apartments in the capital and did not pay taxes on the income received. 

It has been established that the suspect purchased 48 apartments in several elite residential complexes in Kyiv, some of which he sold for a total of 68 million hryvnias. At the same time, he did not pay taxes on the concluded transactions amounting to nearly 12 million hryvnias.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has informed him of the suspicion of tax evasion in particularly large amounts (part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by investigators of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the city of Kyiv.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
