Under the procedural guidance of the Kalush District Prosecutor's Office of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the general director of JSC "Segezha Ukraine" has been notified of suspicion of abuse of power or office, which caused damages to the state exceeding 46 million UAH (part 2 of Article 364-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, 25% of the shares of the company "Segezha Ukraine" belong to JSC "Oriana" (state shareholding – 99.99%), while the remaining 75% belong to a company with Russian capital, which is subject to sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council and additional restrictions from the National Bank of Ukraine. The imposed restrictions prohibit the use of property, conducting financial operations, and transferring capital outside of Ukraine.
Instead, the suspect decided to appropriate state property. As the general director of JSC "Segezha Ukraine," acting in the interests of her son's private firm, without the consent of the shareholders and in violation of the law, she transferred to him the entire property complex of the enterprise — buildings, equipment, and other assets with a total value of over 184 million UAH. The private company began to use these production facilities in its own economic activities and generate profit.
The investigation has established that as a result of her actions, the state, as the owner of 25% of the company's shares, suffered damages of 46 million UAH.
Currently, prosecutors have prepared a motion for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the National Police investigators with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
