In July 2025, a 42-year-old resident of Nikopol independently contacted the Russian special services. He arranged to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine by providing information about the locations of military facilities.

In particular, he transmitted information about the location of one of the district military enlistment offices and military formations in the region via Telegram.

The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During searches, mobile phones and a laptop containing evidence of criminal activity were seized from him.

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man was informed of the suspicion of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
