In the Zaporizhia region, a sudden conflict between a police officer and military personnel ended in gunfire: a drunken law enforcement officer fired more than a dozen shots and injured three servicemen.

According to the investigation, on November 23, 2025, during the day, an employee of the National Police of Ukraine, while off duty and in a state of intoxication, had a conflict with military personnel in the territory of one of the villages in the Zaporizhia region. During a verbal dispute, the police officer drew his service weapon and fired at least 13 shots in the direction of the military.

As a result of the shooting, three servicemen sustained gunshot wounds and were hospitalized.

On November 24, under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, he was informed of the suspicion of committing a completed attempt on the murder of two or more persons (part 2 of Article 15, paragraph 1 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Melitopol.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
