The court employee suggested colleagues for $ 5900 to help update military accounting data in the Tax Code and JV of Kyiv region-prosecutors informed him of suspicion

Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have informed an employee of one of the capital's courts of suspicion for extorting and receiving money from colleagues for assistance in updating military registration data in the TCC and SP in the Kyiv region.

It has been established that the suspect told other court employees, who received summonses to the TCC to clarify their registration data, that he could help them go through all the necessary procedures and get registered for military service. At the same time, the man guaranteed that with his help, his colleagues would not be mobilized immediately after all the documents were processed.

The man explained his ability to resolve this issue through his acquaintances and connections in Kyiv region. He valued his assistance at  $4 000.

Thus, he promised one of his colleagues to help update military registration data and obtain a military registration document in the TCC and SP without his presence in the shortest possible time. After receiving part of the sum and documents from the colleague, the "assistant" informed that the cost of the service had increased to $5 900.

The money was transferred in parts under the control of law enforcement agencies.

During the receipt of the last part of the agreed sum, the man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

His actions have been qualified under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - acceptance of an offer, promise, or receipt of unlawful benefit for oneself or a third party for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions or local self-government, combined with extortion of such benefit.

The accomplices of the suspect are being identified.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years with confiscation of property.

The suspect has been chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in Kyiv with operational support from the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
