They worked at a service station instead of performing their duties: an illegal evasion scheme was exposed in Khmelnytskyi

According to the investigation, in October 2024, officials of a military unit in Khmelnytskyi organized a scheme that allowed servicemen to receive monetary compensation while not being on duty.

Currently, four military personnel have been identified who, under this scheme, repaired vehicles in Kyiv region for over a year, working for an acquaintance of one of the suspects and receiving monetary compensation.

The state suffered losses of at least 1 million hryvnias. The exact amount of damages and the involvement of other officials in the scheme is being established.

Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Western Region, officials of the unit have been notified of suspicion for exceeding the authority of a military official and aiding in evasion of military service, committed under conditions of martial law by a group of individuals in prior conspiracy (part 2 of article 28, part 5 of article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and part 5 of article 27, part 2 of article 28, part 4 of article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). At the request of the prosecutors, preventive measures have been chosen for them, and they have been suspended from their positions.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv.
