Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's offices, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police uncovered six more Russian agents who committed arson in various regions of Ukraine. To carry out these crimes, Russian special services recruited local residents looking for "easy money" on Telegram channels. They have been detained and notified of suspicion.
In Kyiv region, three local residents aged 18, 19, and 21, after receiving instructions from a curator, agreed to set fire to the house of a former instructor from one of the Air Force training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who lives in the Obukhiv district. After developing a plan and dividing roles among themselves, the young men went to the property. Subsequently, two of them were to throw bottles filled with flammable liquid through the window and under the door of the house, while the third was to film the act on his phone to report back to the client. However, law enforcement prevented their criminal plans. They are charged under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 28, and Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, a recruited employee of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" agreed to set fire to relay cabinets and transformers on the logistics route used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After receiving clear instructions, he doused three relay cabinets on the Dnipro Railway with flammable liquid and set them on fire. He recorded his actions on his mobile phone to later send the video to the client as proof of task completion. The man received his "payment" in a virtual wallet through cryptocurrency transfers.
Among the tasks received from the Russian special services was also the planning of a sabotage aimed at disrupting the movement of a freight train and damaging a gas pipeline. He is charged under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In Vinnytsia region, an 18-year-old resident of the city of Haisyn, having agreed to the enemy's proposal, set fire to two relay cabinets and one battery cabinet near a railway crossing in the district center. The perpetrator used a flammable mixture that he personally prepared according to the curator's instructions from Russia. He is charged under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In Transcarpathia, a 52-year-old local resident, having previously prepared a flammable substance and means for ignition, destroyed two relay cabinets by fire at the railway crossing of the "Uzhhorod-2 – Pavlovo" section. These objects belong to critical infrastructure and are of significant importance to the country under martial law. He is charged under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia regional prosecutor's offices, as well as the Obukhiv and Uzhhorod district prosecutor's offices, comprehensive measures were carried out by employees of the regional units of the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Police.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
