Law enforcement officers exposed a large -scale hiding place with weapons in Kharkiv
11.07.2025
Prosecutors of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation and the counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine, uncovered an underground weapons cache — essentially a combat arsenal, carefully hidden in a regular garage in Kharkiv.
In the inspection pit, law enforcement officers discovered dozens of weapons: grenades, grenade launchers with rounds, anti-personnel mines, TNT, thermobaric devices, and ammunition for small arms.
According to the investigation, a group of three men was involved in the arrangement of this "underground warehouse."
The discovery of the arsenal was the result of preventive measures taken by law enforcement to prevent potential threats to state security. Thanks to coordinated efforts, this weapon was timely identified, which could have been used for carrying out sabotage or terrorist acts.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine are checking whether this cache could be part of preparations for subversive activities on the territory of Ukraine, particularly with coordination from Russian special services.
A pre-trial investigation is underway in the criminal proceedings regarding illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, and explosives (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of transferring the seized arsenal for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being resolved.
The investigation is ongoing.
