The investigation has established that a 75-year-old resident of Lviv implemented a fraudulent scheme to seize citizens' funds under the pretext of selling apartments.
This concerns apartments in a residential complex located in the village of Zubry in the Lviv district. Initially, a contract was concluded between the accused and the owner of the land plot, under the terms of which the accused committed to construct a residential building and put it into operation.
Although the contract did not grant him the right to sell apartments in the residential complex, the man entered into fictitious purchase and sale agreements with buyers. It has been documented that in this way, the accused defrauded 36 citizens. The damages inflicted on the victims amount to over 55 million UAH.
The man's actions have been classified as fraud in particularly large amounts (part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, the accused is in custody.
At the request of the prosecution, a seizure has been imposed on 18 real estate objects and the land plot of the suspect.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the police department No. 3 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty District Prosecutor's Office.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
